In recent times we have witnessed an important event for us as an educational institution, the electoral process of the student council organized, mainly, by Professor Luis Gustavo Chávarri, Professor Eilin Noriega and Professor Maritza Luque, which took place successfully after follow different stages. At all times they had the support of the President, Father Miguel Bacigalupo, O. Carm., Miss Norma Soberón, Principal, and the Assistant Director, Mag. Óscar Talla. From the beginning, we were sure that the councilors that would make up this council would do a commendable job.

This process begins with the election and commitment signed by the members of OPEC, Office of Carmelite Electoral Processes, who enthusiastically did a great job.

The students’ response was positive, this is how three parties presented themselves, “We want to see you grow”, “Carmelite Fraternal Front” and “Carmelite Student Party” committing to enter into a clean campaign for which they signed the Ethical Pact act in presence of authorities, advisers and OPEC.

But how would the student family know who was the best option? For this, the representatives and teams of each party carried out a campaign in the schoolyard and participated in a debate in the auditorium where they offered their proposals and resolved the doubts of the voters.

And this is how we arrived at the long-awaited day of the elections, where all the high school students participated with a responsible vote, OPEC was present to supervise each step of the event and, at the end, to be able to verify that the counting and delivery of minutes are correct.

After finishing the counting of the votes, the OPEC members delivered the results to the Principal, Miss Norma Soberón Calero.

Finally, having the “Carmelita Student Party” as the winner, who had Professor Jennifer Marcilla as adviser, the swearing in of President Mía Delgado Valencia and her councilors on the list. We had as special guests the member of the association of former students of the school, Rossana Barrientos and the secretary of the alumni association, Carlos Alaiza.

Congratulations to the Student Council:
