Living the new CarMUN experience

Last year when I was named as one of the two Co-Secretaries General, I felt very excited and joyful because of the responsibility that had been given to me and the trust they put in me to be one of the two people who lead the secretariat of the next edition of CarMUN (Carmelitas Model United Nations); but due to the current situation in Peru, the possibility of carrying out CarMUN in person was put out of our reach.

But the MUN community in Peru began to adapt to the new context and a large number of virtual conferences began to take place organized by schools and other organizations and it was there that the CarMUN team decided to hold a conference virtually.

After that we began to meet to start organizing the Conference and chart the course we were going to take, set dates and think about what ways we could innovate to make CarMUN one of a kind.

We continue meeting quite frequently so that we can continue to determine the direction we need to take and decide on important issues that will affect this year’s conference, as well as adapting to the virtual platform that we will use.

Personally, I consider that the MUN has been an experience that has changed my perspective on the world, politics and many other issues; It has also allowed me to develop skills that I previously felt I was not capable of. For this reason I am very grateful for the opportunity and the trust that has been placed in me as one of the two Co-Secretaries General and I know that all the members of the secretariat are going to make an effort to make the Carmelitas Model United Nations this year a unique experience.
