Our students María Fe Blanco, Franco Raffo and Piero Segale from the 5th grade of Secondary obtained the third place in the competition “Law in Action”.
Este es un concurso escolar, organizado por la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad del Pacífico, donde los equipos participantes experimentan el ejercicio de la abogacía, a propósito de varios casos e inspirados en el cine, actuando como abogados de distintas partes que mantienen conflictos entre sí.
This is a school contest, organized by the School of Law of Universidad del Pacífico, where the participating teams experience the practice of law, regarding various cases and inspired by the cinema, acting as lawyers from different parties that maintain conflicts between them.
The contest had three stages:
- Presentation of a memorial.
- Negotiation and transaction.
- Litigation.
The criteria that were taken into account for the evaluation of the teams in each stage of the contest were:
1) Their ability to identify, analyze and propose adequate solutions to problems with legal relevance;
2) Their training and preparation in the topics addressed, which should be reflected throughout his presentation, as well as the way they relate them to the reality they deal with;
3) Their argumentation, the use of correct reasoning, avoiding fallacies and properly supporting their own position, and identifying and fighting the argumentation problems of their opponent;
4) The capacity for analysis, reflection or criticism, and for synthesis;
5) The use of a methodology and adequate bibliographic sources (doctrine, legislation, jurisprudence, etc);
6) A correct writing and presentation of their position, without incurring in language problems of any kind.
