At Carmelitas we strive for our students to live fraternity, recognizing each of our fellow men as children of God. That is why on March 21 we joined the celebration for Down Syndrome Day by attending school with different colored socks and doing activities to learn more about people living with Down syndrome.

At the Kindergarten level, the children watched an illustrative video and shared a very entertaining story in the classroom about a Down boy and his friends. Everyone understood that being different is good and natural.

Our primary school children learned more about the importance of this day and made crafts where they drew and cut out the shape of colored socks.

We thank the children and teachers for their enthusiasm and commitment to our siblings living with Down syndrome.
