The city of Mar del Plata, Argentina, was the scene of the XI Meeting of Student Leaders, Andes, which took place from April 18th to 21st. The event brought together more than 200 students from countries such as Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Paraguay and Bolivia, who exchanged experiences and reflected on the role of the school as a transformer of new realities.

The delegation representing the Nuestra Señora del Carmen School, Carmelitas, made up of Ariana Beatriz Zevallos Hoyos, Leslie Romina Piscoya Martinez, Ana Paula García Pradel, Luana Valentina Ostolaza Bazalar and María Fernanda Vizcardo Cortez, stood out for their leadership and commitment qualities.

In addition to the presentation, the students also prepared an artistic folk dance number, Valicha, which was part of the cultural exchange between the participants of the meeting. Likewise, they shared a representative gastronomic stand of Peru.

The meeting of Andes student leaders was a space for dialogue and reflection on the challenges facing education in the region, as well as an opportunity to promote cultural exchange and strengthen ties between the participating countries. The delegation of the Carmelitas School stood out for its commitment and active participation in all the activities of the event. During the meeting, the students presented a paper on “The school, a means of social change”, in which they addressed the importance of education in the transformation of society.

It should be noted that the activity is directed from the Social Sciences area to promote critical thinking, creativity and autonomy.

Our institution congratulates the delegation for its participation in this important event and for its commitment to build a more just and inclusive society.
